The Geann VB301 Self-Draining Vacuum Breaker is designed to help protect potable water systems against backsiphonage while allowing residual water to drain after shut-off. Designed for compatible outdoor hydrants and sillcocks, the VB301 features a 1-1/16"-20 female inlet and a 3/4"-11.5 NH male outlet. For applications requiring a 3/4"-11.5 NH female inlet, the VB302 model is available as an alternative.

Self-Draining Design to Reduce Standing Water
After an outdoor faucet is shut off, residual water can remain trapped inside the hose or downstream piping. If left standing for an extended period, this water may collect dirt or other contaminants before the next use. The self-draining design of the VB301 and VB302 allows residual water to discharge after shut-off, helping reduce standing water in the downstream connection. This provides a more practical solution for outdoor faucets, garden hoses, and frost-free hydrant applications while also supporting the vacuum breaker’s primary function of protecting the potable water supply against backsiphonage.
